As part of the academic mobility program, Professor Joachim Liepert, Medical Director of the Neurorehabilitation Department at the Schmieder Clinic, and Aida Zelle, Doctor of Natural Sciences, scientific researcher at the Lurija Institute (Germany) visited Karaganda Medical University from April 27 to April 30, 2026. During the visit, Professor Joachim Liepert conducted a set of lectures on the research topic of motor functions and speech after a stroke for medical residents specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (adult and pediatric) and Neurology, while A. Zelle delivered a lecture and sessions on neurorehabilitation methodologies. This collaboration facilitated the integration of new training methods into the university’s educational program. Furthermore, as part of the memorandum between Karaganda Medical University and Schmieder Clinic (Stiftung & Co.) KG (Germany), a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Board - Rector, B.N. Kosherova, and Stefan Böckle, Head of the International Unit at the Schmieder Clinic, and professors of the clinic.
