International Congress with the Participation of Experts from the World Stroke Organization

On May 29-30, 2026, in collaboration with the World Stroke Organization (WSO), the Kazakhstan Association of Neurologists, and the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the International Congress "Current Issues in Neurology: Focus on Education and Clinical Practice" was held. The congress highlighted modern innovations in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of nervous system diseases.

The congress featured leading international experts fr om the World Stroke Organization (WSO) (Dr. Jeyaraj Durai Pandian, WSO President, Professor of Neurology, Director of Christian Medical College, Punjab, India; Prof. Craig Anderson, Director of Global Brain Health, The George Institute (Australia), Professor of Neurology and Epidemiology, University of New South Wales; Prof. Valeria Caso, WSO Treasurer, Department of Neurology and Stroke, Saronno-ASST Valle Olona Hospital, Italy; Prof. Gustavo Saposnik, WSO Vice-President, Director of Study of Outcomes and Decision-Making in Stroke Unit, University of Toronto, Canada).




Professor T.T. Kispayeva spoke on stroke recovery issues representing “KMU” NCJSC, with a report on "The Impact of Music Therapy on Changes in Brain Plasticity in Stroke," wh ere she presented not only current data on the impact of music therapy on neurogenesis but also the results of research conducted by “KMU” NCJSC students in this area and outlined future prospects for the development of similar research in stroke treatment. The Congress facilitators presented the speakers with memorable souvenirs and certificates of attendance.

The Congress became a significant educational event and an effective platform for the professional exchange of experience, the discussion of complex clinical cases, and the development of interdisciplinary dialogue.
