Jalebi Party
Jalebi Party
26 November 2025
For several decades, Karaganda Medical University has been a promising destination for students from India. In addition to their studies, international students actively participate in student events, introduce local students to their culture, and organize festivals of Indian music and cuisine.
One of the most interesting events was the “Jalebi Party,” which was held on November 24 by students from the group 2005 of the International Medical Faculty. Students of the “Pediatrics” degree from the 1st and 2nd years, as well as instructors from the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social-Political Disciplines, were invited.
The event began with a video presentation about Indian culture and nature. After that Indian students prepared various activities for invited guests — karaoke with Indian songs, and a quiz with questions about India. A special delight for the local students was an entertaining dance competition in which participants had to repeat the movements as accurately and gracefully as possible. Winners and active participants received prizes — Jalebi, crispy sweet snacks.
Thanks to such joint events, KMU students become acquainted with the cultures of other countries, and open, friendly environment is formed — one that will be remembered for a long time as a period of student life as sweet as Jalebi.
