In Karaganda, on March 5, 2022, the championship of the Karaganda region in hand-to-hand fighting among young men and girls was held.

A total of 109 athletes took part in the tournament. The team of Karaganda Medical University was represented by 11 students.


In the final fight Ulan Maidanbekov (group 3003 Dent.) won a gold medal in a close competition with athletes from DSS.  Kuat Daurenbekovich Zhukenov (group 2010 TFM), Khikmat Saidakhmatovich Mirzakhmatov (group 1004 TFM), Eldar Zhanibekuly Zhakypbek (group 1009 TFM) had 3 fights each and won bronze medals.

Athletes were trained by a coach-instructor Yerbolat Kabdrashev.
