Training Session “Basic Resuscitation Care for a Newborn” at the CSET
26 May 2026
On May 22, 2026, the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology conducted another training session “Basic Resuscitation Care for a Newborn Using Simulation Training” at the CSET OF KMU NCJSC. The training was organized for first- and second-year neonatology residents enrolled in the specialty 7R01114 “Neonatology,” as well as neonatologists undergoing advanced training, using the highly realistic neonatal simulator Luna. The aim of the training was to acquire new knowledge and practical skills in resuscitation and stabilization of the condition of newborns in the delivery room in accordance with the 2025 updated guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Heart Association (AHA) under the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Clinical scenarios were developed and successfully tested for the following emergencies: “Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Infantile Asphyxia”, “Emergency Action for Meconium Aspiration”, “Treatment and Diagnostic Procedures of Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn”.
The analysis of self-assessment on performing skills demonstrated the high efficiency of simulation training methods implemented within the Neonatology residency educational program and advanced training for neonatologists.
