On December 5-6, 2025, the VI International Olympiad of Medical University Students "Samarkand 2020" was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, uniting representatives of 65 universities from different countries. Within the framework of this event, competitions were held in 41 subject areas (fundamental and clinical disciplines), including a competition of scientific projects and a competition of startup projects. Karaganda Medical University was represented by a team of 10 people, which included 7 students in from "Medicine" and "General Medicine" specialization and 3 students from  Biomedicine. Students honorably represented Karaganda Medical University during the Olympiad, demonstrating proficiency in theoretical material and practical skills, medical judgment and teamwork skills.

According to the results of the Olympiad, our students claimed: 

1) Gulzhan Serikberli, group 4-003 Biomedicine - 1st place in the startup project competition; 

2) Sanzhar Tolegenov, group 5-028 GM - 2nd place in General Surgery; 

3) Mukhlisa Nishanbayeva, group 6-012 GM - 3rd place in Internal Medicine;

4) Karina Baydavletova, group 5-028 GM - 3rd place in clinical laboratory diagnostics. 

In addition, the students received diplomas in nominations: 

1) Munira Eshonkulova, group 4-035 Medicine - DIPLOMA "AVICENNA'S DISCIPLE"; 

2) Amina Kaldybayeva, group 5-011 GM - DIPLOMA "ABSOLUTE CHAMPION"; 

3) Aidana Saginova, group 4-042 Medicine, Layla Baltabek, group 6-037 GM and Ainura Khozhdabayeva, group 4-003 Biomedicine - DIPLOMA TOP OF KNOWLEDGE.

Tamara Mirzametova, a student from the group 4-006 Biomedicine, was awarded a diploma in the "TRIUMPH OF REASON" nomination in the scientific projects competition.

The award panel have repeatedly noted the high quality of students' training, the level of their medical judgment, progressiveness and creativity. The Olympiad has become an excellent platform for sharing experience and making new acquaintances in the student environment. Academic advisors express their gratitude to Bakhyt Nurgaliyevna Kosherova, Chairman of the Board - Rector of "Karaganda Medical University" NCJSC, Irina Adiliyevna Kadyrova, Director of Institute of Life Sciences, and Bauyrzhan Kadenovich Omarkulov, Dean of the School of Medicine, for supporting students in participating in the Olympiad.
